Service Description

Ever feel stressed? How do you react to high-pressure situations? Is burnout a threat to your well-being and productivity? Being an educator requires mental, emotional, and physical energy. This energy is not limitless. When you don’t prioritize caring for yourself, you may experience any number of different consequences. For example, educators who don’t focus on their well-being may experience fatigue, burn out, and mental health concerns (like anxiety or depression). When educators don’t care for themselves they will not have enough energy to give without negative health consequences. In this session you will learn what self-care is, why it is important to prioritize self-care, the six types of wellness, how to assess your own self-care, and create a goal to improve your own wellness. When educators find ways to fill themselves back up then they can have a continuous flow of energy to give to others and avoid the negative consequences. This session will help you: Learn about what self-care is and why it is important for educators Learn about the 6 types of wellness in large groups Complete the wellness wheel activity Create a goal to improve self-care in at least one of the wellness areas Through activities and self-reflection, you will be able to discover what 6 areas of wellness are, assess your own wellness, and leave with a tangible goal to improve your own wellness by developing self-care habits. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how these forces affect you—and what you can do about it.
